Homeless Outreach Luncheon
November 24, 2010

This year, our annual Outreach Luncheon served over 425 clients on November 13th. Each guest received a warm Thanksgiving meal, a new winter coat, hats and gloves, thermal underwear, and a sleeping bag courtesy of Warm Wishes. Heartland Alliance provided numerous medical services, including check-ups and flu shots. Social services agencies such as StreetWise and the Department of Veteran Affairs were on hand to provide assistance and information to the guests.
There are approximately 74,000 homeless men, women and children in the Chicagoland area. Our Outreach services have over 1,000 clients each year, with 8,000 visits to our Center. Through this event, we were able to provide much-needed warm clothing and supplies to help our clients survive the harsh Chicago weather by winterizing them with jackets, hats, gloves, thermal underwear and sleeping bags.
Thank you to the Outreach Staff for their hard work and dedication in pulling off such a great event and making it a true success. Thank you to our 180 volunteers who made this holiday memorable for so many deserving clients!
