Marty Murray, a devoted Board member of St. Vincent de Paul Center since 1991, passed away suddenly on December 26th. Over the years, Marty consistently demonstrated his commitment to the mission of St. Vincent’s – and, more recently, to Marillac House, and he will be dearly missed. His family and friends are in our prayers

Santa Mike

On Friday, December 10, 2010, we celebrated the 40th year anniversary of Santa Mike’s Holiday Party beginning at 2:00 p.m. Santa Mike and Friends gave a present to each of the 430 children, ages 3 months to 13 years, at the Center.
Homeless Outreach Luncheon
November 24, 2010
On November 13th, St. Vincent de Paul Center hosted the annual Homeless Outreach Event. Guests received thermal under-wear, coats, hats, gloves and toiletries to help them get ready for winter. Healthcare providers, housing agen-cies and job training facilitators were on hand to assist the guests with social service needs. Attendees were also served a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

As our two sister organizations collaborate more and more, we wanted to share success stories and news with friends of both Centers, and how our shared mission can make a big change in all of Chicago.
Volunteer Spotlight

Longtime volunteers Lenore Haske and Mary Quinn retired from their time at the Nearly New Thrift Store this August after a combined 37 years volunteering. Both women worked behind the scenes: sorting, organizing and filling the shelves with donated items.
