MAKING A LASTING GIFT –

Contributions made through wills, charitable remainder trusts and other planned gift vehicles can be designated as unrestricted or restricted gifts. Unrestricted gifts may be used at the discretion of the CEO and Trustees to achieve the Mission of the Center. A donor may restrict his/her gift for a designated purpose or program, such as the Adopt-a-Family and Feed the Children Funds, the Homeless Outreach program, and the Senior Services or Social Services departments. Planned gifts play an important role in securing the future of St. Vincent de Paul Center. Gifts may also be made in honor of or in memory of someone.

HOW TO INCLUDE ST. VINCENT DE PAUL CENTER IN YOUR WILL OR LIVING TRUST

When making a bequest by will or living trust to St. Vincent de Paul Center, the following language maybe helpful in expressing your intentions: (Please consult your attorney or estate planning professional in drafting your will or trust)

" I hereby give to St. Vincent de Paul Center, an Illinois non-profit corporation, with its principal place of business at 2145 N. Halsted, Chicago, Illinois 60614:

• The sum of $___________________________ as an unrestricted gift, or restricted for the following purpose:

______________________________________________________________________________________________

The following described property: ___________________________________________________________________ or

• ___________ % of the residue of my estate after all debts, taxes, expenses and specific bequests have been distributed."

• If no close family members (defined specifically as. . . ) survive me, I leave $ ____________ or %____________ of the residue of my estate to St. Vincent de Paul Center as an unrestricted gift or restricted for the following purpose:

For bequests to the endowment fund of the Center, add:

" This gift shall be added to the permanent endowment fund of the Center. Interest income may be distributed annually at the discretion of the CEO. The corpus of the fund may not be invaded without approval of the Board of Trustees and after consultation with the donor, when possible.”
